It is with much pleasure that I welcome you to the Monto State High School website. Although this school is a small school it is by many measures a successful school offering its students a broad curriculum enhanced by a personal touch. The importance of each individual within our school community is the central focus of everything we do. Students are encouraged to be the best that they can possibly be, pushed to accomplish and reach their full potential. Developing thinking skills is a central plank of our teaching. Our students thrive in an environment which encourages independence and resourcefulness, combined with tolerance, understanding and respect for difference.
When I am asked, “Why is Monto State High School a good option for the education of my child?”, I say the answer lies in our personal approach, our traditions of great teaching, our well-resourced school campus, the breadth of curriculum, and the variety of senior pathways supported.
Guiding and supporting adolescents throughout their formative years is an important responsibility and privilege. The teachers and staff of the school are committed to developing resilient young people who are “life smart” when they leave our school.
We recognize and promote the understanding that education is a joint partnership involving many stakeholders, and we value their vital contribution. We have very supportive groups who enrich our community on a daily basis, and together with our Parents & Citizens’ Association, invest much time and energy in our school.
