Breakfast Club Grant

We are excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant through the Ergon-Energex Community Fund to support and grow our already popular ‘Breakfast Club’.
More than 600 applications were received, state wide.  Our project is one of 32 chosen to make this year’s final selection.
The ‘Breakfast Club’ is an initiative born in 2016 and has been providing our students with a nutritious start to the day ever since.  It was founded by motivated staff members who identified a void and had a strong urge to give back to our agricultural community who had been doing it tough for many years.  This project forms an integral part of our school.  85% of our students access the ‘Breakfast Club’ once per week.
‘Breakfast Club’ provides essential nutrition, promotes better health and academic learning outcomes and increases engagement at school.  It stimulates socialisation and provides opportunities for students to network with peers and staff. It fosters feelings of wellbeing and inclusion.
Our vision encompasses purchase of new equipment and support for grocery purchase (all local).  We would like to extend and grow the ‘Breakfast Club’ into something that is more often (two days per week) and inclusive for the wider community.
As a recipient, we are now in the running to receive an additional $5,000 People’s Choice Grant to help grow and expand our project!
This is an opportunity for our school and wider community to come together and support this worthy initiative.  Please follow the link below to view & vote!
You can even share our project to raise awareness and boost our chance at success.
Please note: Voting is restricted to one vote per ISP provider per day.
Voting closes midnight Sunday 9 June.
