At Monto State High School, we are committed to fostering leadership skills and providing students with meaningful opportunities to make a positive impact within our school community. Our comprehensive student leadership program encourages students to take on responsibilities, develop their confidence, and lead by example.
Our leadership roles include:
- School Captains: Two students who represent the entire school community.
- Senior House Captains: Two leaders for each of our school houses, Cook and Russell.
- Junior Secondary House Captains: One leaders for each house, Cook and Russell, representing Junior Secondary students.
- Junior Secondary Captains: Four students dedicated to leading and supporting Junior Secondary initiatives.
- Cattle Club Captain: A student leader who oversees and promotes the activities of our Cattle Club, fostering teamwork and agricultural skills.
- Student Council Representatives: Elected representatives from each year level who actively contribute to our School Representative Council.
The leadership application process begins in Term 3 each year, with students undergoing a selection process that includes applications, interviews, and speeches. Successful candidates are officially announced as school leaders for the following year during our Annual Awards Ceremony in Term 4.
Leadership at Monto State High School is more than just a title. Students are mentored and supported throughout their leadership journey, equipping them with the skills and confidence to succeed both within and beyond the school environment.
